Volunteer for AFCON 2013

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013 is looking for volunteers to work across various departments such as accreditation, marketing, media and transport. Approximately 2,500 volunteers are required to ensure that the LOC puts together a successful AFCON tournament in 2013.

Who qualifies to apply as a volunteer for the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013?
The volunteer programme for the Orange Africa Cup of Nations South Africa 2013 is open to all applicants who satisfy the
following requirements:

  • Be 18 years of age or older, by or before 1 October 2012, and
  • Be able to speak and understand English, and
  • Be a South African citizen, i.e. must be in possession of a valid South African green identity document or
  • Be a South African resident, i.e. must be in possession of a valid South African Permanent or Temporary Residency
    Permit (e.g. Study or Work Permit).

If the candidate is in possession of a South African Temporary Residency Permit, it must remain valid for the duration of the
2013 Africa Cup of Nations Tournament, i.e. it must remain valid from 1 January to 1 March 2013. The selection of
volunteers will be from various age groups, which will include professionals from different fields, students, youth,
unemployed and retired persons.
