ABSA Premiership 11/12 Home Records

7 March 2012 Kagiso Khaole

No PSL club wants to visit Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in this season’s ABSA Premiership league campaign. Here’s why:

  • The Buccaneers boast 7 wins, 3 draws and remain undefeated at their Soweto home so far this season.
  • Their biggest victories have been against SuperSport United (3-0) and Golden Arrows (2-0).
  • Only Moroka Swallows, Amazulu and current log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns have managed to escape Orlando Stadium with a point.
  • The Pirates defence has kept 9 clean sheets in 10 home games.
  • Best defensive record at home in the ABSA Premiership, conceding only 1 goal back on the 2nd of November 2011 against Moroka Swallows.
  • David Mathebula is the only visitor to score against Pirates at Orlando Stadium.

PSL’s Best At Home:

Best Home Record: Orlando Pirates (Undefeated in 10 home matches)
Best Attack At Home: Moroka Swallows & SuperSport United (19 goals in 10 games respectively)
Best Home Defensive Record: Orlando Pirates (Only 1 goal conceded in 10 matches)

PSL’s Worst At Home:

Worst Home Record: Black Leopards (Only 6 points collected out of possible 24)
Worst Attack At Home: Amazulu (Scored 7 goals in 9 home games)
Worst Home Defensive Record: Santos (15 goals conceded in 8 games)

Despite being on top of the ABSA Premiership, log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns have the 9th best home record in the league this season. They have only managed to win 50% of their games at home with their home record standing at 4w-2d-2l. Kaizer Chiefs have been merciless at home (6w-1d-1l), collecting 19 points from a possible 24, a record that is just shy of Orlando Pirates’ impressive home form this season.

What do you think of your club’s home form thus far?

Nice one touchline expeCt. I’m quite shocked at the Sundowns’ stats. They must have a very impressive away record then.
