Wits CEO, Jose Perreira, has confirmed that Antonio Lopez Habas will be Bidvest Wits’ new head coach for the 2012/2013 campaign. The 55 year old will replace the recently axed Roger De SA on the Wits bench.

Habas has previously coached in South Africa before, having being at the helm of Mamelodi Sundowns a few seasons back. The Spaniard has coached both national and club teams in South America, as well as numerous spells with various clubs in the La Liga.

Habas has chosen Miguel Gonzalez Martinez as his assistant, as this point, no word has been said about the future of interim coaches, Eric Tinkler and Ashley Makhanya.
