South Africa’s national under 17 men’s team (Amajimbos) take on Zambia in a African U\17 Youth Championship qualifying match at the VW Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday. This match will be the first of two international matches played on the day as Banyana Banyana will play Zimbabwe in a friendly later that evening.

The African U\17 Youth Championships will be taking place in Morrocco from the 13th – 27th of April 2013. Amajimbos head coach Ephraim “Shakes” Mashaba is quietly confident heading into the encounter.

“Zambia have tough and skillful players, that is why we need to focus more on tactical work”. Coach Mashaba further adds, “There is an air of optimism and excitement amongst the players as well as nerves. This is natural.”

Amajimbos are scheduled to kick-off their match at 16:00 while the SA senior women’s team will play at 19:00.

the return leg of the under 17 match will be played in Zambia on Saturday, 27 October 2012
