Moroka Swallows’ ticketing fraud investigation has led to two arrests made at the Volkswagen Dobsonville Stadium on Saturday night.

Swallows hosted Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in an Absa Premiership encounter at the venue, also known as the Nest.

After fraudulent tickets started doing rounds at official matches, the Birds alerted the police and an investigation was launched.

The club’s safety and security manager Eddie Caluza was happy to learn that investigations lead to arrests being made.

“We did our part as the club and alerted and warned fans about the investigations,” said Caluza.

“It is unfortunate that we announce such an unfortunate incident, but on the other hand we are encouraged that our efforts have yielded results.”

He added: “We thank the police service for their support and prompt reaction to curb this unfortunate trend. We thank all those fans that bought legitimate tickets and braved the weather to come and support their teams on Saturday night.”
